It is not hard to make a Digital Pinhole camera as seen below:
1. Hole in one
Use a power drill to make a 5mm (ish) hole in the centre of the body
cap. Make sure the body cap is not on your camera at the time! Next, you
need to file away any loose bits of plastic so that they don’t fall off
into your camera
2. Pinhole puncture
Take a small piece of aluminium foil and make a hole with a
size 7 needle. Use fine sandpaper to file down the centre of the hole so
it’s nice and smooth. Use electrical tape to attach it to the body cap,
so the holes are lined up and central.
3. Shoot it
The tiny pinhole aperture means the exposure will be long,
so use a tripod. Switch to manual and use the LCD display and histogram
to determine a good exposure and composition. Try adding some off-camera
flash for additional lighting

But if you are like me and think what is the point of ruining a perfectly good body cap a peace of foil taped over the top of the whole in your camera body will just as well.
However if you are going to take such sophisticated equipment and put a peace of foil over the top, I think you have missed the point of a pinhole camera. For me the most interesting thing about making a pinhole camera is that back to basic idea of how you can project an image without any complicated equipment.

So the fun really comes when you make the most basic of cameras using a tin can and some photographic paper.

You may not be able to get your hands on the films and papers shown in the above link. So use what ever you have and experiment. My only real peace of advice would not to bother taking an image unless it is in the middle of a sunny day.
Getting all the chemical that develop your film can be expensive partially if you are going to the is as a once off. So for a quick and easy way that you can download your images to your computer go with the digital version. That is what I will do in my next blog. But i do suggest at least once making a pinhole camera from scratch it is a lot fun partially with children.
